Review | All Star Lanes Brick Lane, London – Bowling & Dining
An evening of bowling and some tasty food sound right up your alley (sorry)?
We decided to head along for a fun Tuesday evening at All Star Lanes in Brick Lane, Shoreditch. Taking on the tradtional American bowling alley and diner theme, All Star Lanes have four venues in London (Brick Lane, Holborn, Bayswater and Westfield Stratford City), as well as one in Manchester.

The Brick Lane venue that we chose to visit has a huge dining room, six bowling alleys, a cocktail bar area and a penthouse that can be rented for private parties.
The venue really takes on the ‘all-American’ feel, with fantastic Americana-style decor throughout the venue. And the food certainly doesn’t stray from the theme either – with USA inspired diner food. On this visit, I opted for the pulled chicken sandwich, which was absolutely delicious.
The chicken itself was tender and juicy, contrasting with the crunchy and flavoursome slaw. And of course, I had to opt for my favourite sweet potato fries, which were cooked to perfection and some of the best I’ve ever tasted. If you fancy a drink, they also have a fantastic range of cocktails on offer.

Before it was our turn to go bowling, we had a while to wait, so took over one of the (American style) pool tables for a few games, which is a really nice touch for those like us who wolf down their dinner and have a while to hang around before their game(s).
The bowling itself is fantastic fun – the alleys are relatively dark, which combined with bright accent lighting creates a fantastic atmosphere. There are also only six lanes, much less than you’d find in some of the mainstream bowling chains, creating a much more intimate and boutique feel.
We only had one game, although I would have happily stayed for more – the super fun animations that pop up on the screen are a definite entertaining highlight.
I was completely bowled over (sorry. again) by All Star Lanes – and fun is guaranteed there whether you’re on a date, with a group of friends or looking for something the whole family can enjoy. It’s somewhere I’ll definitely visit again, and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting London!
P.S I won. Obviously.
More fun things to do in London with friends:
- Take to the water on an urban kayaking tour of London’s canals.
- More about being in the water than on it? Be brave and take a dip at one of the best places for outdoor swimming in London.
- If you’re into beer, spend a day exploring the breweries of the Bermondsey Beer Mile.
- Embrace the dizzying heights of Greenwich and climb the iconic dome with Up at the O2!
Aw man, I just got back from London on Friday! This looks so good, I wonder if there's anything similar in Glasgow. If not I'll be sure to head to the Manchester one next time I'm down x

This looks lovely and glad you had a great time. I haven't been bowling in a long time and this seems like a great place to go on a date.
