Mini Adventures: 2.0

I’ve been a bit AWOL for the past week or so here. The reason being, something you might have noticed – my blog looks a little bit different. I’ve actually…wait for it…moved over to WordPress! Yep, after years of Blogger making my images all grainy and dull, I’ve been lured in by a prettier interface, more customisation options and LOTS OF PLUGINS. Which is the perfect time for a bit of a redesign. After hours of browsing, I picked my theme up from ThemeForest – it’s the Journey theme from Indieground – and it’s pretty much exactly what I’d been looking for. I’ve probably spent about a full night’s sleep worth of hours just playing with the colour schemes but I think I’ve pretty much got it sorted!

Migrating to WordPress was actually really easy. I say that because I didn’t actually do it myself. Having a full time job only leaves me with enough time to tweak menu font colours until 2am, not fiddle around with actual technial bits and destroy everything I love in the process. I’m usingĀ TSOhost for my hosting, and they offer a free migration service which I used and would definitely recommend. They got it done super quick!

Despite loving the uniqueness of my old Blogger layout, I felt like I wanted something cleaner, where the content could really take centre stage. But don’t worry, there’ll be a few more changes coming soon to put some individuality and style back into the blog. The fabulous Jemma is going to be sorting me out with a snazzy new blog header next month and I’m super excited!
